Looking ahead to Saturday's opponents
Rooted to the bottom of The Championship, Barnsley are next up for Blackpool on Saturday, as Paul Ince’s men look to end their run of poor form at Oakwell.
The Yorkshiremen are without a win in six matches themselves, so a victory over The Seasiders would be a timely boost.
Here is everything you need to know at The Tykes.
How they’re getting on…
Last weekend’s postponement at Charlton denied Barnsley the chance to instantly avenge their FA Cup defeat at the hands of Coventry.
A disappointing Christmas period was softened by a respectable draw at Birmingham on New Year’s Day.
The last time they enjoyed a victory at home was back in October, when Middlesbrough were defeated 3-2.
Man in charge…
Just before Christmas Danny Wilson re-joined Barnsley, the club who he’d managed 15 years previously.
Wilson had guided the club to the Premier League during his first spell in charge, back in 1997.
Now, after spells with both Sheffield clubs amongst others, Wilson is back at Barnsley, but has failed to take three points from a game since his return.
Providing the majority of Barnsley’s goals this season has been Chris O’Grady, who has seven to his name so far.
After a successful loan spell at Oakwell last season, O’Grady made his move permanent in the summer, and he has done well again so far.
Playing as hosts…
At Oakwell this season Barnsley have won just twice, and only once since August.
Middlesbrough and Huddersfield have been beaten there, but both Derby and Bolton took three points home with them over the festive period.
