Forward Reports Back For Pre-SeasonBobby Grant is looking forward to a 'fresh start' at Blackpool after reporting back for pre-season.
The forward, who has now fully recovered from a knee operation, is aiming to show his true qualities after a frustrating time in tangerine last time round.
"It was a long season last season for myself, especially with the injury," he told the official website. "It's now a fresh start and I was looking forward to getting back.
"I had my couple of holidays and then I've just been working hard with Phil (Horner) to get myself right. I feel really good and the knee's feeling really strong, which is really important."
The 24-year-old will look to prosper in his prefered position this season, having featured on the left in his previous six league appearances.
"I want to be playing in my proper position and it's up to me now to work hard and make sure that the manager sees what I can do playing there," he admitted.
"I'm not dwelling on the past, I'm looking forward to the future with the new guys here."
As for pre-season training itself, Grant was suitably impressed with José Riga's methods on day one.
"It was really enjoyable, you can see what he's trying to do. His qualities speak for themselves. We got the balls out first day instead of doing long slogs around the field.
"Football has changed, and you can get just as much fitness out of doing stuff with the ball than you can just running. The lads really enjoyed it," he added.
