Midfielder Discusses Return To TrainingDavid Perkins says José Riga's first training session as manager of Blackpool was an enjoyable one.
The players reported back for pre-season yesterday and got stuck in to plenty of work with the ball, rather than just fitness-based exercises.
"We didn't really know what to expect with the lads that were here but we had a training session and we really enjoyed it. I met the manager and the staff and it was really good," he told the official website.
"We did plenty of ball work and I think that's the philosophy he wants. We had the balls out on the first day and did plenty of passing. Hopefully it will be more of the same."
The midfielder has experienced plenty of change since moving from Barnsley in January, having initially been signed by Paul Ince. Yet the 32-year-old has been in football long enough to realise that your mind stays on the task in hand.
"It's been a bit of a rocky road but that's football, so you just get on with it. We're professionals so we just do our job and see how we get on," he admitted.
"I'll just look to carry on (from last season), get my head down and work hard and then see where we're at," he added.
