Maintenance Underway
Work on the Bloomfield Road playing surface is now underway ahead of the 2014/15 season. The covers are now off following Friday night's Rod Stewart concert and 2mm of annual meadow grass is in the process of being taken off the pitch.
A verti-drain is expected to take place this afternoon, prior to a sand spread of 80 tonnes. A contractual aerator is then due on site to relieve the surface of compaction, 10 inches into the ground.
The pitch will then be re-seeded before making its debut against Burnley in a pre-season friendly on Saturday 2 August.
