Rock Star Packs Out Home Of Blackpool FC
Legendary rock icon Rod Stewart wowed a packed-out Bloomfield Road last night by performing some of his biggest hits.
The 69-year-old took to the stage in front of 20,000 people to a rapturous reception and sang tracks such as Maggie May, You Wear It Well, We Are Sailing and Do Ya Think I'm Sexy in a two-hour set.
Supported on the bill by The Chorley Pipe Band and jazz outfit Dixie Mix, the concert formed part of Rod's UK Stadium tour, which has already seen him perform at Brighton's AMEX Stadium and Stoke's Britannia Stadium.
The concert, presented by concert promoters Cuffe & Taylor, marked the 40th anniversary of Rod's last performance in the town, which came with The Faces in December 1974.
