St Helens 1 Blackpool 1 (4-3 pens)
Blackpool girls under 14s made it through to the Lancashire Cup final thanks to a penalty shootout victory over St Helens.
Still buzzing from last week’s quarter final win, Pool got off to a great start, leading after just 16 seconds.
Lizzie Bradley’s through ball set Ella Orr on her way, and she placed the ball home to put Pool ahead.
Katie Kelly’s shot almost made it two, as did Erin Brown, but The Seasiders couldn’t extended their lead before the break.
Pool had to deal with the wind in the second half, and Jordyn Ellison had to be at her best in goal to keep her side ahead.
She could do nothing about St Helens drawing level from a corner however, as they managed to scramble the ball home to take the game straight to penalties.
Thankfully Pool edged the spot kicks, winning 4-3 and making it through.
