Barkhuizen Set For Short Spell On Sidelines

Striker Fractures Arm In Friendly

Tom Barkhuizen will be out of action for a month after fracturing his arm in a practice match.

The striker, who has recently returned from a loan spell at Morecambe, suffered the injury a minute in to a behind-closed-doors game at Sunderland on Tuesday.

"It's very unfortunate because the lad was impressing me," manager Lee Clark said. "We've had some good news in that it'll only be three-to-four weeks before he's available for us again.

"The cast he's got on means he can do all the fitness work that's required so he'll probably come back in better physical shape, even though he's in good shape and a fit lad anyway.

"We look forward to having him back because he'd created a little bit of an impression," he added.
