Blackpool Set For New York Stadium Bow

28 November 2014

New Stadium To Tick Off

Blackpool will make their first trip to New York Stadium on Saturday, the only Championship ground Pool have never played at.

Opened in 2012, this is only the third season Rotherham United have spent at their new home, with the previous two bringing promotions.

The Seasiders' last trip to face The Millers came in 2007 at Millmoor, and they went on to spend four seasons at their temporary home of the Don Valley Stadium.

The stadium was named after the area of land it falls on known as New York, and Blackpool's Jacob Mellis scored the first goal there, playing in a pre-season friendly for Barnsley.

Blackpool have sold over 550 tickets for Saturday's contest, but supporters are reminded they can still pay on the day, with a £2 increase.

The prices now stand at:
£25 for Adults
£15 for Concessions (Seniors 60+, Students in full-time education and disabled*)
£10 for Juveniles (13-17 years)
£8 for Kids 12 and under
