Injury UpdateJosé Miguel Cubero has undergone a minor procedure to remove a pin from his ankle.
The Costa Rica international, 27, has been back in his homeland in an effort to get to the bottom of a problem that has so far blighted his career with The Seasiders.
"I think things turned out as they had planned before the operation, it was a simple operation, remove the screw that I had put in two years ago," Cubero said.
The midfielder will now return to Blackpool this weekend and continue his recovery, with manager Lee Clark looking forward to seeing him in action.
"José is more settled in his own mind now that this has been done and hopefully when he recovers from it completely he'll be pain free," Clark said.
"There's a talented footballer there who we believe can help us in what we're trying to do. The quicker we get him back playing, the better for everybody."
