Daniels: Must Buy Into Fresh Ideas

2 November 2014

Defender Speaks After Ipswich Defeat

Donervon Daniels says the Blackpool players must buy into Lee Clark's ideas sooner rather than later if they're to improve their league position.

The Seasiders were beaten 2-0 in the new manager's first game on Saturday, and remain bottom of the division.

With two games coming up in quick succession Daniels says there is no time to waste, and there must be a reaction.

“He is trying to instil confidence into the team, he knows what he wants and is very organised. We just have to get behind him and his tactics, and move forward.

“He said to us as a team we just need to keep our heads up and keep working. We'll go again Monday in training, but we have to do it in a match, not just training.

“It's not going to be easy getting out of the position that we're in, but we're in this profession because we love it and we know what we have to do,” Daniels said.

A goal in each half condemned Pool to a fourth defeat on the spin, as Ipswich left Bloomfield Road with all three points, and now The Seasiders face trips to Fulham and Leeds United this week in desperate need of points.

“It was a disappointing day and result. I don't think the boys' effort could be faulted, we put everything on the table for the gaffer.

“He has only been in charge for three days and it was a difficult day. We dug deep, everything didn't come off as we wanted it to, but there were positives to take into Wednesday. We have to start winning and putting the wrong things right."
