Kennedy: Correct Traits To Survive

25 November 2014

Defender Positive For Times Ahead

After just 90 minutes on the pitch with his new team mates, Tom Kennedy has seen enough to believe Blackpool can survive relegation this season.

The left-back joined The Seasiders prior to Saturday's game with Bolton, with the hosts putting in a gutsy performance in the 1-1 draw.

Speaking from experience having survived with Barnsley in 2013, Kennedy says there is enough in the Pool dressing room to do the same.

“On Saturday the lads showed hunger and aggression, all the traits you want in a team that's fighting to get out of trouble,” said Kennedy.

“We didn't get the win so we move on, we'll take the positives from that performance, which was a good one, and we go to Rotherham with confidence high.”

Kennedy put in a solid performance on Saturday which mirrored the team's, and says he had no trepidation about the task ahead of The Seasiders.

“I don't mind that. I've been involved in battles before. I'm just happy to be at a great club, trying to get ourselves out of this, which is achievable at this early stage.

“We were written off at Barnsley and carried on fighting. What the gaffer is trying to do here is the same sort of ethics to what we did at Barnsley, you've got to work harder than your opposition, and that's what we're trying to do day in day out in training,” he said.
