Kyle Looks Ahead To Shrewsbury Clash

Youth Team In Action

Blackpool Head of Coaching Richie Kyle is expecting a difficult test at Squires Gate tomorrow when The Seasiders welcome Shrewsbury Town.

Blackpool Youth go into the game on the back of an impressive point at league leaders Rochdale on Wednesday, and Kyle believes it should be an entertaining game to watch.

“They are a good footballing team who will want to play football. They played Tranmere in the Youth Cup recently and I’ve been told that they like to pass it and play it out from back,” he said.

“It’s going to be a different game, but I’m looking forward to it because we like to get it down and pass it and play some good football. They look like they like do the same, so it should be a really good football match on Saturday.

“I’m looking forward to playing them because it will be a tough test. I know they’ve improved this year and they have got some good players so it will be a challenge, but one we are looking forward too.”
Pool’s form this season has been a bit inconsistent, and Kyle has made no secret of how important a win against Shrewsbury could be for his young side.

“We need to start winning games because at this present moment in time it’s a little bit inconsistent, we win and then draw, then maybe we lose.

“Last year we went on a unbelievable run of consecutive wins to stay at the top of the league which we went on to win, so we need to go on a run and that’s what I keep on saying to them.

“We need to put wins together. If we win on Saturday and take four points out of six in a week then it isn’t a bad week, but we want to win every game we go into and Saturday will be no different. Saturday is a game I am confident of winning if we play anything near like we did on Wednesday against Rochdale,” he added.
