Midfielder On Joining BlackpoolJonathan Legear is delighted to be given his chance to prove himself in what he believes is the best country in the world for football.
The midfielder officially joined Blackpool on Tuesday, having played in his native Belgium and Russia in the past.
Expected to first feature after the international break, Legear is desperate to get going and make the most of his opportunity.
“It's good for me to sign for Blackpool. I want to play in England and The Championship is the best league after the Premier League,” he said.
“I had some propositions for other clubs, five or six, but I took the best for me. Many people look every week at the games in England and I like the football here.
“I want to play and show my qualities in the best country for football, and I hope to help the team go up the table.”
The 27-year-old brings a wealth of experience with him, having played in the Champions League in the past, and has settled quickly into life in England.
Having trained with the club for the last few weeks, Legear has been impressed, and feels he can only add to the squad at Blackpool.
“I hope I try to help the team with my bits of experience. I'll try so much to help the new manager and the team.
“I've seen how the supporters can help the team. They support the team every game, and also there is a good mentality in the players to play well.
“The first thing I want is to help here. Now it's a difficult situation everyone needs to give 150 percent every game for the supporters and the new manager.”
