Stopper Answers The Questions

Ell Parish will continue to put the heat on Joe Lewis for Blackpool's number one jersey, and in the meantime has answered some quick-fire questions.

Who was your sporting hero growing up?
Peter Schmeichel without a doubt. Just because of how good he was, I was at that age where I sat and watched football. He was the main man.

What is your career highlight so far?
Playing in the FA Cup would be one and the World Cup for the Under-20s with England.

And the worst moment?
Getting relegated with Lincoln City, it was my first loan spell when I was at Villa and it wasn’t a good feeling.

Who was your first junior football club?
I played one game for Towcester juniors, great name I know.

If you could change one rule in football what would it be?
Make the goals smaller, so it’s easier for us keepers.

Who is the best player in your position in the world currently?
Manuel Neuer has been for a few years now and he showed it again at the World Cup.

What is the one programme on TV you can’t miss?
The missus is making me watch One Born Every Minute. I could definitely miss that, but she couldn’t.

If you could have dinner with three famous people who would you invite?
Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss, you’d get great conversations out of those three.

What is your trademark dish in the kitchen?
Paella, my missus likes me in the kitchen and it’s one of my favourites.

In a film of your life who would play you?
Probably Peter Crouch because I look quite similar to him, so he could probably play me quite well.
