Manager On Ipswich Clash

Lee Clark has called on his players to make his start to life as Blackpool manager a winning one.

The Seasiders face Ipswich Town at Bloomfield Road on Saturday in desperate need of three points.

Clark has trained for two days with his players, and now wants them to transfer their hard work onto the pitch.

“We know it's going to be tough, we'll have to do all the basics right against them to get a result,” he said. “If my players show their true potential we've got a right good chance of getting a result against them.

“Mick (McCarthy) is a very experienced manager both at international and club level. He has been at the top level in terms of the Premier League, he is a terrific manager, very well respected by me.

“I've come up against them already this season with my old club.  He has got him team very hard to beat again and they're getting good results.”

Pool are without a victory in three matches, and belief will be key to a good performance, according to the new manager.

“It's about the players believing in themselves first and foremost. It's about them believing in each other and me believing in them as players.

“We win as one, we lose as one, whatever we do we'll make sure every time we come off the pitch having given our best,” he said.
