Rewind: Huddersfield Town

16 October 2014

Recent Huddersfield Meetings

Blackpool travel to Huddersfield Town on Saturday with a reasonably good recent record against The Terriers.

Unbeaten in three against the West Yorkshire side, The Seasiders will target maximum points to improve the situation at the bottom of The Championship.

Here we take a  look back at three past fixtures with Huddersfield Town.

Last Meeting
Blackpool 1 Huddersfield 0 – 22 March 2014
Ricardo Fuller netted the only goal the last time the two sides met in March. The striker latched onto David Perkins' through ball and blasted home the winner to boost Pool's survival chances. Former-Seasider Keith Southern lined up for the visitors, while current defender Peter Clarke was their captain.

Last Trip
Huddersfield 1 Blackpool 1 – 29 September 2013
Like the home fixture, Fuller was also on target in West Yorkshire as Blackpool claimed a point in front of the Sky cameras. The Jamaican rounded Alex Smithies to open the scoring, before James Vaughan rifled home the equaliser. However the striker squandered his chance to claim all three points, smashing the crossbar with a late penalty.

Blackpool 1 Huddersfield 1 – 1 January 2003
Back in 2003 the late penalty went in Blackpool's favour, and John Hills made no mistake to claim a point on New Year's Day. Andy Booth had earlier given Town the lead, before Leam Richardson was sent off for Pool. In bizarre circumstances supporters were forced onto the pitch at half time after a fire test.
