Riga: Confidence Is Building

3 October 2014

Manager On Cardiff Clash

Manager José Riga hopes recent goals from his strikers will give them confidence going into Friday's clash with Cardiff City.

Both Nathan Delfouneso and Ishmael Miller have been on target this week, and will be looking for more against The Bluebirds.

For Miller, it was his first for the club, and Riga expects him to be feeling positive against Cardiff.

“I'm happy for example with the goal from Ishmael (Miller) because he needed this kind of confidence,” he said.

“Creating opportunities we are able to do, if we're not able to get this first win, it's because me missed something, not often a lot, but enough to win.

“The players showed at Middlesbrough that they want to give their best all the time. We got a good point that we deserved, and now it's about being at home.”

Riga expects another big test for his side on Friday, but is focused on guiding Blackpool to a first win of the season.

“My behaviour is always the same, I respect all the opponents, they all have big qualities, but I try to work more with my team.

“I adapt and try to get the right balance in the team depending on the opponent. I'm looking for a solution,” he said.
