Riga Demanding A Reaction

20 October 2014

Manager On Derby Fixture

José Riga has demanded a reaction from his players when Derby County visit on Tuesday evening.

Blackpool have an immediate opportunity to banish the memories of the weekend's result, as the high-flying Rams visit.

Riga's side slipped to rock-bottom of The Championship over the weekend and the manager expects his players to react positively.

“It's at home, after losing one, so I expect a big reaction,” he said. “We have to take the best from the worst experience at Huddersfield and have to be better the next game.

“We know how we did it (against Cardiff), and what we didn't do at Huddersfield, so it's up to us to correct this. It will again be a tough game, there is no easy game for us, but we know how to get a result.”

Meanwhile Riga is hoping to receive some positive news on the injury front, after refusing to rule out making changes for the Bloomfield Road clash.

“We need to see who will be available, because we have some players missing, and in our situation all players are very important.

“I hope Joan Oriol can be ready for Tuesday and maybe even (José) Cubero. It's clear that we need all the bodies. The full squad must be ready, we have to be at our best level collectively and individually.

“The team can miss a game, but we need to know why and find a solution,” he said.
