Manager Believes In StopperJosé Riga says he has full confidence in Ell Parish, as the goalkeeper prepares to make his Blackpool debut on Friday evening.
The stopper will replace Joe Lewis, who is unable to face his parent club, making his first appearance for Pool since his summer move from Bristol City.
Speaking ahead of the Cardiff clash, Riga insists he has no concern in making the switch.
“Not one player from the team has asked if we're getting another goalkeeper, even in the squad for a month, nobody because they trust Elliot,” said Riga.
“They see him each day at training, and the same with Joe. The same way Joe has grown through the training to the mind-set and mentality of the group, I think Elliot can do the same.”
Parish has waited patiently due to the form of Lewis, another player who has impressed Riga since his arrival.
The stopper has played every minute for Blackpool this season, keeping two clean sheets in the process.
“He has done very well. Goalkeeper is a particular position with a lot of responsibilities. He's a very nice man first of all, he is listening and doing a very good job.
“We have seen him growing with the team, and he was important in all our games. I'm happy for him,” he said.
