Cubero Set For Blackpool Debut

Manager Confirms Availability of Midfielder

José Riga has confirmed that José Miguel Cubero is fit and available to make his debut for Blackpool this weekend.

The midfielder, a summer signing from Herediano, has now been granted a work permit and recovered from a knee problem that denied him an appearance at Brighton.

"He trained yesterday and today with us so he will be available," the manager confirmed. "He is a player with reputation because he played in the World Cup but we don't have to put a lot of pressure on him.

"It is never one player who can change a team. He has his own characteristics and even though he has played at the World Cup and for his national team, he has to learn how intensive the games are here in The Championship and how we need to fight to get some points. Time for adaptation is normal."

The player himself can't wait to put on a tangerine shirt and join his team-mates on the pitch.

"I now have my work permit so everything is solved. I'm looking forward to my debut. I had to stop a few days because of an injury but I'm training normal now," Cubero said.
