Manager Reflects On Narrow DefeatJosé Riga felt that Blackpool had enough chances to take a point from the game against Watford this evening.
On a night where a few players went close to scoring, the inside of the post denied Nile Ranger from the penalty spot as The Seasiders fell to a 1-0 defeat at Bloomfield Road.
It meant that Matej Vydra's spot-kick was enough to secure all three points for the visitors, with Riga left to reflect on what might have been.
"We had the same opportunity as Watford to take a point but we didn't. We had a lot of players who gave what they had to give and they were looking to make a good result. We had enough opportunities to get at least one point," he said.
"When we analyse all of our games we have at least the same number of opportunities. Apart from the Wigan game where we were not existing in the first-half, we've had enough opportunities in the games to certainly be more productive.
"Every time we play we have to give the maximum to be at the best level to perform. We were good in the way we played but it is just about efficiency."
Riga praised Joe Lewis for keeping Blackpool in the game with some key saves, yet felt that Heurelho Gomes had enough to do for his side at the other end.
"Joe Lewis was very good today and he preserved the result and then afterwards Gomes did the same on the other side. One point would have been normal for this game," he admitted.
