Goalkeeper Answers Quick-Fire Questions

After putting in two Man of the Match performances in recent games, Joe Lewis answers some quick-fire questions on his life and career so far.

Who was your sporting hero growing up?
I was into cricket as well as football but it was probably Peter Schmeichel from a goalkeeper point of view.

What is your career highlight so far?
Getting into the England squad when I was 20 and just training with them. Also promotions with Peterborough from League Two to League One and League One to The Championship.

And the worst moment...
Probably relegation last season with Cardiff, that was really disappointing.

First junior football club...
Harleston Juniors in Norfolk.

If you could change one rule in football what would it be?
I would actually ban people for diving.

Who is the best player in your position in the world currently?
Manuel Neuer. He’s been the best goalkeeper in the world for the last three years, I think.

What is the one programme on TV you can’t miss?
Not through choice but Big Brother because my missus watches it. Mine is Family Guy on BBC Three.

If you could have dinner with three famous people, dead or alive, who would you invite?
I’d have had Johnny Cash, Ricky Gervais and Eva Mendes

What is your trademark dish in the kitchen?
Thai green curry

In a film of your life who would play you?
I’ve had the John Cleese shout a few times so I’ll say him.
