David Ayre Takes On Charity Challenge

17 April 2015

100-Mile Bike Ride For The Children's Society

David Ayre, son of the late Blackpool manager Billy Ayre, is to take on a 100-mile bike ride through London and Surrey in aid of The Children’s Society in August.
David, who also works for the charity, is set to push his body to the limit, having recovered quicker than anticipated from a serious car accident last year.
“I broke my neck, colarbone, and femur,” he explained. “Due to the fact I recovered in six months instead of the anticipated 12 months, I thought it only right that I put my newly healed body on the line.
“When the ride takes place it will have been less than 12 months since that accident happened, so I hope you'll agree that this marks something of a personal achievement.”
The charity that David will be doing the Prudential Ride 100 for supports thousands of children and young people a year, working tirelessly to improve the lives of children living in poverty, helping them have a better chance in life.
