Head of Coaching on Youth VictoryRichie Kyle was delighted to see Blackpool Youth pick up maximum points against Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
A stunning free-kick from left-back Luke Higham proved the difference, as Kyle's side continue to build for next season.
"We were excellent and produced a solid performance. We created a lot of chances and it was nice to get another clean sheet and victory," he said.
"It shows how much this new group has grown and it's putting us in good stead for next season.
"The consistency we are showing is providing us with good performances, and we are slowly getting back into the mentality of winning football matches on a weekly basis.
"This week we dominated the game from the first minute to the last and it was a very assured display, and it should have been more than 1-0."
With Higham having recently been offered his first professional contract by The Seasiders, it seemed fitting for him to score the decisive goal.
"Luke's been consistent for the last 18 months now. We asked him in the last couple of months, with a professional contract on the table, to step it up and we wanted to see the levels we knew he could reach.
"He's been improving every week, particularly in the last six to eight weeks and he's been our best player.
"If he keeps improving the way he is, he has got a bright future because he works very hard on his game and is showing the confidence now. His goal was absolutely unbelievable and he deserves all the credit he's getting at the minute."
