Higham Free-Kick Seals PointsBlackpool Youth got back to winning ways on Saturday, after a dominant 1-0 win away at Shrewsbury Town.
The young Seasiders were on top from start to finish against a good Shrewsbury side, and the win will have pleased manager Richie Kyle as he prepares his side for next season.
Blackpool nearly took the lead after 16 minutes, as Kit Gregory's corner was met by the head of Joe Moulden, but his effort couldn't be finished off by Sam Roscoe.
After half an hour, Luke Higham's through ball found Chea, whose neat one-two with Elliot Pond created a chance for the striker, but he was denied by the goalkeeper's feet.
Kyle's side would have felt aggrieved to not be leading at the break, but they didn't have to wait long into the second-half to get their goal. A free-kick awarded 25-yards-out, and Higham sized it up before curling a tremendous effort into the top corner on 48 minutes.
Pond could have made it two shortly after, good work by Caleb Richards found the striker, but after a good turn he couldn't apply the finish.
Joe Moulden was the next to go close, as Kyle's side looked to put the game beyond Shrewsbury, but his header from Higham's cross was steered wide.
Tyler Rufus came off the bench and went close as well, curling a great shot from the edge of the box which cannoned off the bar with ten to play. The hosts offered little in reply and Blackpool saw the game out for a comfortable victory.
