Banks To Return As Goalkeeping Coach

16 August 2015

Former Favourite Joins Coaching Staff

Former Blackpool favourite Steve Banks is to return to the club to take up the position of goalkeeping coach at Bloomfield Road.

The 43-year-old, who moved to Blackpool from Gillingham in 1995, has recently spent time in the same role at St Johnstone, while still being registered to play.

"I'm really pleased to welcome Steve back to the club and I'm sure his appointment will be a popular one with the supporters," manager Neil McDonald said.

"He has a wealth of experience and knowledge to pass on to our goalkeepers and I know he can't wait to get started."

Banks, who has also worked as a goalkeeping coach at Hearts and Dundee United, made more than 180 appearances as a player for Blackpool.
