Skipper Answers The Questions
Handed the captaincy after catching the eye of Neil McDonald during pre-season, David Ferguson has gone on to play every minute of Blackpool's season so far.
The 21-year-old left-back will be hoping to guide Pool to their first three points against Walsall at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.
In the meantime, he sits down under the spotlight to answer our quick questions.
If you were the dressing room DJ, what three songs would be on your pre-match playlist?
I’d put on a bit of SoundCloud and choose a playlist from there, usually Dale Castell.
What is your favourite piece of football memorabilia that you own?
I got the shirt framed from when I scored my first professional goal against Nottingham Forest. I told my mum not to clean it so it’s still got the sweaty smell, I’m surprised it hasn’t started bubbling.
What is your favourite away stadium to play at?
Vicarage Road because it’s where I made my Blackpool debut. I know the result wasn’t the best but when we were 2-0 up I was buzzing.
What is the biggest name in your phonebook?
I’d say Wes Brown. I text him quite a lot to be fair.
What can you remember about your first job?
I did two weeks at the Civic Centre in Sunderland with the council. You could see where people put claims in, like when they’ve tripped over the curb.
To date, what is your most embarrassing moment in football?
At Blyth Spartans we came in half-time and I thought I was being substituted so I whipped everything off and was ready for a shower. Then the Gaffer said: ‘Fergie, you’re not coming off’, and I got battered for replying with: ‘I’m so sorry, Gaffer’.
What is the best sporting event that you’ve watched live?
When we beat ‘The Mags’ 3-0 under Paolo Di Canio. All we wanted was to score a goal, but then the second and third went in. When we scored the second goal I fish-hooked a bloke and felt his filling, then it turned into a massive pile-on.
What were your first pair of football boots?
A cheap pair of Total 90s from JJB. My dad would only buy me black boots though.
What TV series are you addicted to currently?
Walking Dead. I’ve got my mum into zombies, what more would you want?
Including yourself, what four players in world football would be in your 5-a-side team?
Manuel Neuer, Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
