Manager Puts Faith In Striker
Neil McDonald has backed striker Jack Redshaw to get off the mark in a Blackpool shirt against his former club Rochdale on Saturday.
The 24-year-old summer signing is yet to find the back of the net for Pool, but did claim 12 goals for Morecambe last season.
The striker came close to registering his Goal of the Season contender on day one but was substituted at half time at Northampton Town on Tuesday.
Now gearing up to face another of his former clubs in Rochdale, McDonald has piled his faith in Redshaw to produce the goods.
“The lad can create, the lad can score he just needs to be a little bit patient in front of goal,” said McDonald. “My main focus is he’s getting the chances which is good.
"It’s just not falling for him. It’s either taking a little deflection or he’s ahead of the ball.
“He must wait for his chance to come because he’s had a couple so far, let’s hope he gets a few more on Saturday and I’m sure he’ll stick one in the back of the net.”
