Second Home Game In Four Days

Fixture | Blackpool vs Burton Albion
Date | 18 August 2015
Venue | Bloomfield Road

Neil McDonald’s Blackpool side will be looking for their first taste of victory this season on Tuesday night, but newly-promoted Burton Albion stand in their way.

Life at Bloomfield Road didn’t get off to the kind of start Pool will have envisaged on Saturday, as Rochdale claimed the spoils with a 2-0 win.

Defeat left The Seasiders on one point from two league matches, but not discouraged after carving out a number of clear openings at the weekend.

Instead they’ll look to claim three points over last season’s League Two champions in Burton, who’ve settled into life in the third tier quickly.

The Opposition
On the back of winning League Two, Burton have begun life in League One with a victory and a defeat.

The Brewers beat Scunthorpe United on day one and followed that up with a surprise success at Bolton Wanderers in the Capital One Cup.

Defeat at Barnsley on Saturday was Albion’s first in 15 matches and came via a second-half penalty in South Yorkshire.

High profile as a player, Burton boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has adapted well to management, after taking over the reins from Gary Rowett.

Team News
McDonald has no fresh injury concerns to deal with for Tuesday’s game, meaning Colin Doyle and John Herron will again be ruled out with injuries.

As for Burton, they’ll sweat on the fitness of Zeli Ismail, who missed Saturday’s game with a knock.

Pre-Match Talk
Poll boss Neil McDonald said: "It’s our second home game in the space of a few days. The players will be ready, they’ll be a tough test, but we’ve shown we can score goals, we just need to be tighter defensively to give ourselves a chance of winning football matches.”

Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin said: “We take the positives and move onto the next game at Blackpool. It's another exciting game for us and the good thing about moving up to this division is that there are plenty of exciting games."
