Defender Targets Upturn In ResultsTom Aldred hopes that Blackpool's victory over Fleetwood Town last weekend proves to be the catalyst for another good run of results.
The defender says the team must now push on again in the league and build up some momentum over the Christmas period.
"Hopefully the win proves to be a catalyst for more," he said. "We need to push on again now and get back up the table."
The 25-year-old has been a key figure in the side this season and is now growing in stature following his move from Accrington Stanley in February.
"I’m quite vocal and I’m starting to be that on and off the pitch,” he admitted. “It’s been mentally tough given where we’ve been in the league, in The Championship and now, but you have to be strong and I do believe this team can be successful.
"I’m prepared to put my body on the line for the team and hopefully doing that helps us to get results. It’s part of my nature because I just love defending. We’ve had a lot of that to do at the minute but bring it on, throw it at me and I’ll deal with it.”
Aldred is one of just a few players who remain at the club from last season and is in a good position to know that things are improving, although results will be a major factor in showing it.
"The staff, the professionalism, the players, everything is a million times better this season. It’s easy for people to think that it’s the same club but we don’t look at it like that, we’ve got to be strong and search inside the dressing room to bring back some success," he added.
