McAlister: Games Can't Come Quick Enough

Midfielder Relishing Christmas Period

Jim McAlister says the Blackpool players are looking forward to every game, now they’re amidst a good run of form in League One.

The Seasiders face two fixtures in the space of three days immediately after Christmas, but crucially go into them on the back of three straight wins.

With morale high in the Pool camp, everyone’s eager for the next game, according to the energetic midfielder.

“The games can’t come quick enough when you’re on a good run,” said McAlister. “We’ll not get carried away because we’re on the back of three victories, but the boys are looking forward to Boxing Day.

“Games are coming thick and fast over Christmas, there won’t be a lot of training done, just playing and recovering, which is good.

“We’re on the back of three good results and three clean sheets, so hopefully we can continue to look up the table, rather than down.”

Neil McDonald has changed system in recent weeks, which has seen McAlister return to a more central role, and the Scot believes recent wins highlight the similarities between teams at this level.

“It’s something the manager worked on prior to Wigan, where it worked down to a tee. We stuck to it against another top six side in Peterborough and it worked perfectly again.

“You look at the league table, how tight it is, I’ve never known anything like it. Everyone seems to be similar so I’m looking forward to the next round of fixtures and seeing where it takes us,” he added.
