McDonald: Lee Will Score Goals

1 December 2015

Manager Backs Latest Arrival

Neil McDonald has backed recent arrival Elliot Lee to make a big impact and score some vital goals for Blackpool.

The manager knows the highly-rated striker well from his time at West Ham United and utilised his contacts at Upton Park to bring him to the club.

Lee, who made his debut off the bench against Fleetwood Town on Saturday, is the son of former Charlton Athletic and Newcastle United midfielder Rob Lee.

"He didn't get much service against Fleetwood to be fair but we've now got two weeks to work with him, give him that support and show him what everybody's about. Hopefully he can force himself into the team," McDonald said.

"He's a goalscorer and a good little player in and around the box. We've been creating lots of chances in previous matches and haven't been scoring so hopefully if we can create the ones before he came then he'll stick the ball in the back of the net, without a shadow of a doubt."
