McDonald Looking To Extend Deals

23 December 2015

Manager Aims To Keep Loan Players At Club

Neil McDonald says the club has already opened talks about keeping certain loan players at Bloomfield Road past January.

Deals for Dean Lyness, Hayden White, Will Aimson, Elliot Lee and Andy Little expire in the New Year and the manager is keen to keep some of them around.

"We're looking to extend if we can, if we feel they can contribute," he told the official website. "The ones who are in the team at the moment certainly are doing. We're in touch with the clubs already and we're working behind the scenes to try and strengthen the squad by signing players. If we need to use an extension on the loans then we'll certainly do that."

In the meantime the manager will be looking for the players to take their recent good form of three successive victories into the festive period, with the squad looking forward to the games ahead.

"We've been winning games recently so we're looking forward to the Christmas period. Oldham at home and Barnsley away are two very good games for us at the moment."

The necessary work for Blackpool's Boxing Day fixture will be done on the training ground prior to Christmas Day, allowing the players to spend time at home.

"Christmas is a time for family. We have a few players that travel in so we won't put them in the car for two hours, or an hour, to drive in for the sake of just 20 minutes to say we've come in.

"We've done all our work this week, so a little bit of trust back to the players because they've been looking after themselves good and been taking things on board. We'll come in on Boxing Day morning raring and ready to go for the game."
