Defender On Joining Blackpool
Tom Aldred is hoping to stabilise his career at Blackpool after signing on a permanent basis today.
The 24-year-old ended a two-year association with Accrington Stanley by agreeing an 18-month deal with The Seasiders.
Now ready to knuckle down and fight for a defensive slot, Aldred is hoping to impress in tangerine.
“Now is the right time to move on,” said Aldred. “It's a good move for me, obviously a big step up in level from where I've come from and I'm looking to prove myself.
“As a centre half you need stability, you need games and you need lots of them to obviously learn your trade.
“It's always the case that when you go to a new club you've got to prove yourself, and obviously coming to a higher level that's something that I'll look to do.”
Aldred proved a success at The Crown Ground, where he chalked up 92 consecutive starts for Accrington, and now hopes to take that form to Blackpool.
“I had a good two-year spell with Accrington, it was a really successful spell for my career and for me as a player.
“I was fortunate obviously with suspensions and injuries, all the things you can miss out with fortunately didn't happen to me, and I got a lot of games under my belt.
“Now I hope to get in the Blackpool team and stay there,” he said.
