Blackpool FC Community Trust Inclusion Cup

17 February 2015

Youngsters Get Involved

Youngsters from Blackpool schools and colleges took part in the Blackpool Football Club Community Trust Inclusion Cup last week.

Over 100 young people flocked to Stanley Park, keen to show off their skills. Community Trust Futsal Scholars volunteered at the event, refereeing games and tournament administration.

In an exciting final, McKee College took on local rivals Park Academy School, and produced a terrific performance, claiming a 3-0 victory.

Anne Taylor of McKee College said: “The tournament was very well organised, and gave participants a fantastic experience with plenty of game time."

With the growing profile of disability football throughout the UK, the tournament provided the opportunity for local children to showcase the talent which is growing across the Fylde Coast.

Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Rick Bryan said: “We would like to thank all the schools for taking part, it was terrific day and a great chance to bring together local schools for friendly competition.”
