Manager Reflects On 3-1 DefeatLee Clark says Wigan fully deserved their victory at Bloomfield Road this afternoon, admitting his players played with too much fear.
Goals from Kim Bo Kyung, Harry Maguire, James McClean helped the visitors create a six-point gap between the two sides, with Blackpool's performance leaving the manager bitterly disappointed.
"It was a victory that was deserved for Wigan, there are no complaints from me," he said. "We didn't deserve anything from the game, we played with too much fear and didn't play our normal type of aggressive game at home on that pitch. We gave three awful goals away.
"The three wins we've had have been with clean sheets, and that's how you win games. We looked so fearful in the first-half, it looked like the game in terms of being up against our closest rivals was too much."
Defeat leaves Blackpool 15 points from safety with 12 games to go, however Clark isn't prepared to give up the fight.
"We've lost another game, we've gone further adrift and it's looking an even harder rescue act than it was, but we've got to keep going until it's not possible mathematically to do it."
The Seasiders will now look to bounce back against Birmingham City on Wednesday night, though it looks like Henry Cameron will miss out with an ankle problem.
"We'll have to wait 24 hours for a diagnosis once the swelling goes down. It's a shame because he's an exciting young player who has been one of the shining lights," he added.
