Davies Adapting His Game

20 February 2015

Striker On Different Roles

Steven Davies says he's had to change his game in recent weeks depending on how Blackpool have set-up.

The striker has led the line alone away from home, but partnered either Dom Telford or Gary Madine at Bloomfield Road.

Tomorrow The Seasiders travel to Blackburn Rovers, where Davies is keen to put in another shift for his side.

“I'm doing a job for the team,” said Davies. “I need support around me, but I understand when we go away from home I need to put a performance in.

“Obviously I'm a centre forward, so I want to be in the box and scoring goals, but I need to sacrifice a bit of my own game to challenge for balls.”

Lee Clark's side are currently ten points adrift at the bottom of The Championship, but with two games coming up the next four days are crucial.

“If we don't start picking up points quickly we're going to be in trouble. Nobody believes it is going to be easy, and the fans will be disappointed, but the lads are giving it everything they've got.

“We've got to keep trying and we've got to keep digging in. Personally I'll keep going until the final whistle on the last day,” said Davies.
