Seasiders Beat Preston

Blackpool Under-13 girls recorded a 3-0 victory against Lancashire rivals Preston North End Under-13s over the weekend.

Goals from Sheneill Lymer, Imogen Hill and Sophie Slater sealed a comprehensive win and allowed the team to keep up the pressure on table-toppers Manchester City.

"I was very pleased with the result and our twelfth clean sheet of the season against a well-organised PNE team," manager Mac Barlow said. "This result puts us in a fantastic position to finish in the top two. It's always fantastic to do the double over PNE and hopefully we can push City to the very end.

"Sophie Slater was outstanding in midfield with her drive and determination and scored a great goal once again from distance. Sheniell Lymer is flying high in great form and seeing her amongst the goals is pleasing to see. Daisy Molyneaux was Player of the Match for her outstanding performance in defence.

"Well done girls, you deserve your success with the effort and application you put into games."

Meanwhile, the Under-12 girls edged a game against Wigan Athletic 2-1 thanks to two goals from Holly Holmes.
