Youngster's Reaction To Late Goal
David Ferguson's injury time equaliser on his home debut for Blackpool left the youngster ecstatic come full time.
The defender met Jamie O'Hara's corner in the seventh minute of added time to salvage Pool a point against Nottingham Forest.
Ferguson's header was the eighth goal of the afternoon and ensured the points would be shared.
“Welcome to the Football League, it's unbelievable,” said Ferguson. “I was going to go back for the corner, but I thought last minute and the way the game was, I'd stay up.
“I was back stick and I remember Danny Collins saying 'my man's ran off', so I thought there was nobody around me to make that front run.
“I didn't break my stride, the ball was perfect. I didn't know what to do with my hands, I just thought I'd run to Jamie (O'Hara).”
The header finally concluded a relentless contest, and displayed the character in the Blackpool squad.
“So many ups and downs, what a game. The players don't want to give up.
“We went a man down and went behind, then Darren (O'Dea) went off, but you've got to keep going. The position we're in you can't give up, you've got to keep going all the time.
“With nine men to pull one back at the end it's unbelievable spirit,” he said.
