Girls Make It A Weekend Double

2 February 2015

Double Delight For Pool

Blackpool Under-13s 6 Academy Juniors 0

Blackpool's Under-13 girls comfortably saw off Academy Juniors over the weekend, courtesy of six goals without reply.

Sophie Slater had The Seasiders in front with a trademark 25-yard strike, and from then there was no looking back.

Their lead was doubled after Imogen Hill's effort was spilled by the away stopper, Chloe Pendleton was following in to double Pool's lead.

Sheneill Lymer then capped a fine run with a smart finish to make it three, before the same player made it four before half-time.

The interval did little to knock The Seasiders out of their stride, and Lymer soon had her hat-trick strike, making the most of an impressive through ball from Grace Gordon.

It was then left to Slater to round off the result, blasting home Blackpool's sixth after some patient build-up play.

Blackpool's Under-11s continued the positivity with victory over Wigan Athletic.

After dealing with some early Wigan pressure, Pool edged ahead when Charlotte Yates picked out Gracie Fern, who powered her way through and hit an unstoppable effort to put the hosts ahead.

After the break The Seasiders doubled their lead, Taz Cashmroe's corner was met by Caitlin Tulloch, who calmly slotted home the second.
