Youth Draw With CarlisleBlackpool Youth drew 1-1 with Carlisle United on Saturday, halting their four-game losing streak and leaving Head of Coaching Richie Kyle pleased with the result.
Joe Moulden put The Seasiders ahead in the first-half before Carlisle’s Matt Douglas equalised after the break and Kyle impressed with his young side’s reaction following their disappointing 4-0 loss away at Wrexham in their previous fixture.
“We’ve been focusing on how we were going to react from the Wrexham game this week and making sure we were much better than last week,” he said.
“They gave me everything and they had the right attitude. We could have nicked it at the end because we had a goal ruled offside with the last kick of the game.
“It was a much improved performance and I thought we reacted well from the defeat last week and I want us to move on now and start improving with our young team.”
Blackpool will now be hoping that their hard fought draw can act as a catalyst to see The Tangerines return to winning ways, and Kyle is certainly optimistic his team can turn things around.
“We needed to start somewhere and to stop losing games. Hopefully we can go onwards and upwards from here.
“We are having to rebuild slightly with the new lads coming up and we need to get them used to what we are all about.
“I’m hoping we can kick on, starting with our cup game on Wednesday against Tranmere. We have still got plenty of league games left to play and we are still in a couple of cup competitions so there is everything still to play for.”
