Kyle Targets Return To Form

6 February 2015

Youth Team Face Carlisle

Richie Kyle feels this weekend presents the perfect opportunity for his Blackpool Youth side to get back to winning ways.

His side face Carlisle tomorrow in a fixture which has been moved to Squires Gate due to problems with The Cumbrians pitch in midweek. Both clubs have now agreed to play the league match at Blackpool's training ground, and Kyle says his side are looking forward to getting back on the field.

"It's a big game this weekend, and one we're relishing," he said. "We were never good enough last week at Wrexham, nowhere near the levels we expect here. To lose when you've been out-played is fair enough, but to be out-fought is never acceptable.

"The match with Carlisle gives us the chance to put things right. January was a nightmare month for us so we're glad to see the back of it, hopefully February can be a better one but it's up to us to change our luck. Our levels haven't been good enough in the last few games."

Despite winning the reverse fixture 2-0 back in August, Kyle is expecting a tough task against United.

"Like any team in this division, they'll be difficult to break down," he said. "We take heart from the fact we beat them back in August. That was on the back of a few defeats as well, so hopefully we can do something similar but the squad's different now to what it was back then, so you can't really draw too many comparisons from the match.

"We're confident of winning, and with that win hopefully we can set ourselves up fr another run. It doesn't matter what level you play at, every player and team have experienced winless runs. After all the success we had last season it can be a difficult to take on board, but we're a young team, one of the youngest in the division, so we have to deal with that.

"The last few results haven't changed my mind about the quality we have in this squad, I see it every day in training and I know that win's just round the corner. If we can get the three points it will set us up nicely," he added.

The match kicks off at 12pm at Squires Gate.
