Weekend Results

Blackpool's ladies enjoyed another successful weekend, with all five sides picking up victories.

Wigan Athletic U16s 1 Blackpool FC Girls U16s 3
Lily Hambley tapped home the Under-16s' opening goal against Wigan, latching onto Stephanie Haigh's cross. The hosts levelled before the break, before Pool cranked up the pressure in the second half. Hambley struck twice more, ensuring Blackpool left with a well deserved win.

Formby Girls U13s 0 Blackpool FC Girls U13s 5
On Sunday morning the Under-13s ran out comfortable winners over Formby. Grace Gordon had Pool ahead after just three minutes, before Natasha Webster followed in to make it. She soon had her second and Sheneill Lymer slotted home. The third and final goal came through Gordon, who drilled home following some neat passing play.

Manager Mac Barlow said: “Its great that we're on a fantastic run at present, obviously we need this consistency going into the next few crucial games which will have an impact on our season depending which way they will go.

“Sheneill Lymer had another great game with all her desire and effort and scored another great goal. Natasha Webster is working hard in the midfield fighting for every loose ball.

“Katie O'Donnell man of the match performance for commanding her defence, consistency and as ever reliable commanding her back line, communication improving all the time.”
