The Seasiders, aiming to bounce back from defeat at Brentford in midweek, know victory will tighten things up at the bottom, with Rotherham and Millwall facing each other at The New York Stadium.
Charles Dunne will serve the first game of a three-match suspension following his dismissal against Brentford on Tuesday night. The left-back will be joined on the sidelines by Andrea Orlandi, who hasn't recovered in time from a thigh problem. Jamie O'Hara looks set to feature though, despite coming off at Griffin Park with a rib problem. Niall Maher (groin) faces a late fitness test.
William Kvist and Leon Clarke will miss out for Wigan Athletic, however Jermaine Pennant is set to make his second appearance for the club after agreeing a short-term move to the DW Stadium. If he starts, goalkeeper Ali Al-Habsi will make his 150th appearance for The Latics.
Tickets remain on sale to both sets of supporters for the match, with pre-booked tickets available for collection from the ticket booth, located just outside the ticket office, from 11am.
Wigan fans still intending to travel can purchase tickets for the away end at the away ticket booth from 1.30pm.

Keith Stroud will officiate the game between the two teams, having last refereed a Blackpool game at Brighton in September. He will be assisted by Matthew Donohue and Mark Dwyer, with Mark Heywood on fourth official duties.
Supporters travelling to the game from outside of Blackpool will be required to follow diversions from the end of the M55 to the ground due to the continued closure of Yeadon Way.
Tom Aldred and Grant Hall feature in the latest edition of the Blackpool FC programme, as do former players Mark Taylor, Scott Taylor and snooker star Dominic Dale.
Copies, which are priced at £3, are available to purchase from the club shop or from various sellers around the ground prior to kick-off.
The family room, located within The Seasiders' Bar, will once again be open from 12pm tomorrow until kick-off. Admission is free for families with match tickets, however under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. Two squad players will be on hand to sign autographs from 2pm.
Blackpool are priced at 12/5 with Sky Bet to pick up all three points against Wigan, with the visitors available at odds of 5/4.
Gary Madine is priced at 7/1 to open the scoring, with Jamie O'Hara at odds of 11/2 to score at anytime in the 90 minutes.
