Students At Bloomfield Road
More than 50 Blackpool students gathered at Bloomfield Road on Friday afternoon to take part in the Premier League Enterprise challenge with Blackpool FC Community Trust.
Students from the Community Trust's Futsal BTEC programme and Blackpool Sixth Form delivered the presentations and produced business plans on how to attract new families to Bloomfield Road.
The youngsters presented their ideas to various Blackpool FC staff, John Woodman, Richard Wild and Paul Rowley with the winner going through to the final at Old Trafford.
The project has been going on since November, with the groups taking part in weekly sessions to develop their projects. Groups also attended the sessions from Highfield High School and South Shore Academy.
The winning group Optimists presented a fascinating idea, based around making a family ticket that includes a meal package and entertainment option with local companies including the Odeon cinema and Franky and Bennies restaurant.
The group will now fine tune their idea and compete to the national semi final at Manchester United in March.
