Manager On Heavy Loss At WatfordLee Clark was embarrassed by Blackpool's second-half capitulation, as the team lost 7-2 at Watford.
Having watched his side start brightly at Vicarage Road and race into a two-goal lead, the manager was left to rue The Seasiders' 45-minute showing after the interval.
"At ten to four it was looking fantastic. At ten to five it was embarrassing," Clark said. "We’re deeply embarrassed by that second-half. To concede seven goals in any game, never mind a half, is very disappointing and frustrating."
The home side scored three goals inside the first eight minutes of the second-half to take the lead, on the back of a team talk where the manager had stressed the importance of keeping things tight.
"We talked about the first 15 minutes being crucial and certainly not conceding, never mind conceding three in the first seven or eight. That put us on the back foot and we never recovered. In all honesty, the goals for them have come within the width of the penalty area, two from a set play and one where we didn’t defend particularly well in the wide area.
"You just can’t play like we did in the second-half, at any level. We’ll take all the flack that is going to come our way in the next few days, and rightly so."
The task now will be to bounce back and recover in the right manner, with three of Blackpool's next four games coming at Bloomfield Road.
"It’s a dressing room that’s really hurt but we can’t curl up in a ball and hide in a corner. We’ve got to make sure that we go again on the training ground and try to do better again next week," he added.
