Midfielder On His Way Back
Manager Lee Clark has confirmed José Miguel Cubero is back in training and is progressing nicely.
Yet to feature under Clark, the midfielder has been out of action since September with an ankle injury, but the worst has now gone.
“He is back in training this week, which is a great boost. He has looked really strong and has trained with the group for the last two days with no issues,” said Clark.
“Our fitness coach Mick Rathbone has been very impressed with his fitness levels, so we'll start arranging some behind-closed-doors friendlies for him.”
The 27-year-old played against Norwich City and Middlesbrough earlier this season, and Clark is now keen to continue his development at Bloomfield Road.
“He's got a class CV. He was very impressive at the World Cup when I watched him during the summer, and by all accounts the odd time he has played here he was impressive.
“We're hoping we can get him back to that. The next step for us is to get him on the football pitch," he said.
