Defender On Clean Sheet And Victory
Grant Hall enjoyed an ideal debut on Saturday afternoon, helping Blackpool to a clean sheet and three valuable points.
The defender came on to replace the injured Darren O'Dea 21 minutes into Pool's meeting with Millwall.
The Seasiders went on to claim the victory and withstand late pressure, with the Tottenham loanee playing his part.
“Clean sheet and a win, you can't ask for any more than that,” said Hall. “I thought the team did really well, it was a hard game with the conditions, but we dug in and deserved the 1-0.
“We'd been told to warm up before because he'd had a clash of heads and then obviously the injury came, so I was ready.
“I've got to keep putting in performances and play well, hopefully I can keep my place and go from there.”
The defender spent the first half of the season at Birmingham City, where he played under Lee Clark, so the duo have a good relationship.
“The Gaffer brought me in at Birmingham and he has shown faith in me. We got on well straight away and I think he likes me as a player. Hopefully I'll repay that faith in the second half of the season.
“It's been a manic week, but I'm settled now and hopefully I can concentrate on my football.
“It's going to be a long season, but we're going to push and try to stay up at the end of the day,” said Hall.
