Midfielder On Impressive Villa Performance
Andrea Orlandi says Blackpool must recover from the disappointment of conceding late and take the positives from their cup exit at the hands of Aston Villa.
The midfielder, making his first start since November, was impressive as The Seasiders held their own against Premier League opposition.
They were ultimately denied another shot in a replay, but Orlandi has called on The Seasiders to bounce back.
“Their fans celebrated when they had the first shot on target,” said Orlandi. “We were organised, we were in the game, we played well and had our chances on the break.
“Unfortunately they had Premier League class players and (Christian) Benteke scored so we lost the game, but overall it was a really good performance against a good Premier League club.
“It was very disappointing losing at the end, I think we had the better chances to win and there were lots of positives.”
Handed a start after impressing against Rotherham United last time out, Orlandi twice came close for The Seasiders, and now hopes to continue his form into the league.
“The position he (Lee Clark) played me was good, on the right I can come in on my left. I'm in good shape and good form now.
“I had my chance last week and then got a start, so hopefully with these performances I'll be playing more regularly,” he said.
