Goalkeeper Discusses Scotland Training Camp
Colin Doyle revealed the Blackpool players were thrown in at the deep end on day one of their pre-season training camp in Scotland, being put to the test instantly on the training field.
Speaking in the first of this week’s YouTube Player Diaries, the goalkeeper shared his thoughts on an intense two hours on the training field at Pool’s Stirling base.
“To be honest a few of the lads thought we’d get here and a have a loose jog and stretch, just a light session,” Doyle said. “I think they got a shock when they started because they did a ten minute run full blast.
“Us goalkeepers did our usual warm up with Bobby (Mimms) and went over with the lads to do waves of attack, which everyone enjoyed it.”
Working specifically with goalkeeper coach Bobby Mimms and fellow stopper Kyle Letheren, Doyle discussed the high spirits in the camp, which only improved through some light-hearted drills.
“We did something a bit different at one point when I had the front goal and Kyle had the back. I could leave it and Kyle would get smashed in the face. It was a good bit of fun and you need that around the place.
“All the lads are getting on and there’s no bad eggs. We need that togetherness and seem to have it already,” he added.
